Missing Oklahoma City 11 Year Old Boy Found Safe

Friday morning turned into a nightmare for the family of 11 year old Oscar Andrade around 9 am. He was last seen playing ball in his yard with a relative. When the ball rolled off and the relative went to get it, he returned only to find Oscar gone. The family spent about 2 hours looking for the boy before they finally realized they needed to call the police.

Officers from the Oklahoma City Police Dept searched all the surrounding houses and went down each street hoping to catch some sight of the child. After searching for about 5 hours an officer who happens to have an 11 year old of her own decided she would go over the areas searched already one more time. She said she started thinking about what her son might do if it were him.

She looked in everywhere, even inside garbage cans hoping for some clue as to where Oscar went when she heard a knocking coming from a wooden privacy fence. She found the child in a space between the fence and a fence panel no wider than about a foot. He was frightened and scared to come out. Lt. Jay Barnett said, “He was pretty upset. His primary concern was being in trouble while everyone else’s primary concern was him being safe.”

At least this child was safe when he was found. He was not harmed at all. I wish all missing child cases could end as this one has. Sure once the shock is over with you would want to scold him for hiding but just imagine the sigh of relief to hear that your child that had been missing was found and he was OK. I imagine they only wanted to hug him and thank God he was OK.

God bless all the children and especially the ones that are lost in this world. It is nice to know that in some cases the tragedy ends with a happy ending.
