Sarah Quaylin by Tyler Deaton & Jay McClure

Subtitled, “Left Wing Smear Tactics on Rogue Conservatives”, in fact its a sycophantic hit job on anyone who has criticised Palin since she was selected as McCain’s running-mate. Now there is plenty to be said documenting the vicious attacks on Palin and her family. However one would have thought that most people interested would already know all about them, in extremis.

What is amusing is they seem to think that Dan Quayle and George Bush are “rogue” Conservatives. Now both men suffered from left-wing trashing of them and falsehoods about their intelligence. However neither of them were either rogue nor “outsiders” like Palin and Bush was not much of a conservative at that. Quayle didn’t help his cause very often with some of his pronouncements, that made all but his most ardent fans cringe.

Furthermore they don’t just concentrate on left-wing attacks on Palin and devote a whole chapter to trashing Charles Krauthammer for not agreeing with McCain’s choice. Krauthammer predicted the problems with the choice accurately. By implication the chapter attacks any conservative who does not show their doe-eyed (or should that be Moose-eyed) view of Governor Palin. Heading a chapter “rally the nerds” is not that clever either.

Of course, it is possible to disagree with the tactics used against Palin by the left-wing media, but also not believe she was either the best choice for VP or is not a suitable candidate for President.

In the computer gaming world we would describe this book as written from a fanboi/fangirlz perspective. Its blindingly loyal and sycophantic at the expense of any real thought on Palin.

Instead of writing a book warning future conservative women of the possible pratfalls to their rise in profile, its a puff book that attacks all of her critics with the same shotgun. Its a missed opportunity and a great shame considering how well researched the book is in the end.

Maybe a future edition my cut down on the vitriol against all her critics and concentrate on investigating the left-wing hatred of any conservative women who raise their head above the parapet.
